Salt Caves and Floating a new way of healing……⁉️

I believe that if you don’t take good care of yourself you can’t take care of others.

If you will take the time to put yourself 1st everyone and everything in your life will benefit.  We are all so busy and we have a hard time prioritizing our  lives.  You don’t have to take days off sometimes all we need is a few minutes all the way to a few hours to refresh and recharge.   I prefer to take care of myself before I reach the end of my rope. Salt Caves and Floating are my new favorite forms of self care.

Have you ever been so run down that your body just takes over and quits?  Our immune systems rely on us to take care of ourselves.  Eating nutritionally, exercise, sleep, downtime, and self care are all required to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Did you just look at that and say I have no time for any of those things. My to do list is sooooo long. I understand but you have too!  You have to make you a priority.  So I have a couple of  ways I have recently tried and I want to share them with you.  Like  you I am going at 100 miles an hour every single day and found these 2 things didn’t give me a choice but to STOP and RELAX.

Salt Therapy

Also called halotherapy, is a therapeutic and 100% natural, drug-free and non-invasive treatment. Salt therapy is a method of inhaling pure, dry, micronized salt air particles. These particles reach the deepest area of the lung absorbing bacteria and pollutants and providing an anti-inflammatory and cleansing effect. This process supports and strengthens the body’s immune system by eliminating toxins and allergens that are trapped within the mucus lining of the respiratory system. This is not a fad or a new thing it has literally been around for centuries.

Salt therapy has provided benefits for those with the following conditions:
Allergies
Emphysema
Asthma
Psoriasis
Bronchitis
Pneumonia
Bronchial Infections
Rhinitis
Chronic ENT illnesses
Sinus Infections
Cold/Flu
Sinusitis
Cystic Fibrosis
Smoker’s Cough
Dermatitis
Snoring
Ear Infections
Stress and Fatigue
Eczema
Wheezing

What kind of salt?

All salts are not created equal! There are a variety of types of salts being used in salt rooms including Dead Sea, Mediterranean, Himalayan, Regular Sea Salt, different blends and pharmaceutical grade salt.

My personal experience:  1st I am a salt lamp addict.  I love them and have them all over my house.  I knew the benefits and thought everyone can benefit from that. Then I fell in love with the light they put into the room.  Since I stopped using candles a few years ago I missed that light.  My friend and I found a groupon (LOL had to share that) and scheduled a session.  We had no idea what we were in for.  But we knew it was non invasive.  We filled out a little form and then you put on socks and walk into a room that has between 12 and 16 chairs in it.

You go in the walls are covered in pink Himalayan salt and the ground is all salt.  Awesome.  You sit in your chair cover up with a blanket and relax for 60 minutes.  Just breathing.  It is now a big joke because this girl (the one who’s brain never shuts off) was out in about 5 minutes.  I slept hard the whole time.   Then the voice comes on and says your 60 minutes are up I was shocked.  I thought I would have a hard time sitting still for 60 minutes.

You could tell people who had breathing issues were benefiting. I felt amazing and would go back every week if I had one closer to my house.  Not all salt therapy places are the same some do just have salt lamps.  I think the benefits especially for people with any sort of breathing issues are astounding.  Breathing easier and well rested I will be going often.

Next Lets float

What is floating?

You float in 10 inches of medical grade epsom salt water.  Sounds so simple and yes it is just that.  You just float. Actually you don’t have any choice.  All that salt makes you light as a feather.  Where I float (Inngi in HR)  you are in a pod that you can close if you choose or you can leave it open.  Like the picture above but some places are just a tub.

My Experience

I personally went to a brand new float place near my home.  I have serious issues with cleanliness and sanitation.  Visiting  with the owners and was given a full tour and explanation of the process.  It felt great going in for my 1st float.

Each room is individual you have a shower and a pod.  Music is piped in if you chose and lights in the tub you can even chose your color or do a rainbow.  A shower before and as you shower the tub fills with water.  The water is your skin temp.  You climb in and for the next hour float. Yep You are naked. You don’t have to be but they highly recommend it for sensory reasons.   (Everyone asks me that).  There is a panic button should you need it but you are all alone otherwise.

My first float was weird! It’s hard to  figure out what  to do. Just float that is all that is required to do and relax.  So I did and about 30 minutes in I was so happy and content.  After the 60 minutes I got out and showered off  and started my day.  It was amazing so much energy (they say 60 minutes equals 4 hours sleep).   Feelingless pain and that lasted several days.  My second and third float were even better.  The 3rd float I did no music and just the rainbow lights that was my favorite I encourage you to try all the ways to find what you enjoy the most.  The benefit I love the most?  Focus and creativity.

These were some super fun NEW ways to take care of my self and I hope you will go out and find some new ways to take care of yourself.

Stay tuned more coming soon.
